UFO Crash at Roswell is a long awaited, definitive study of the alleged crash in early July 1947 of an alien spacecraft near Roswell. New Mexico and the resulting retrieval and cover-up by military units. The two authors. Kevin Randle. an intelligence office in the Air Force, and Donald Schmitt, a special investigator for the Center for UFO Studies, interviewed over 200 people in researching this book. Many books and articles on UFOs have a reputation for being overly sensationalistic and poorly documented. This book, on the contrary, sticks to the facts, the eyewitness accounts, newspapers from 1947 including the Circleville Herald and government documents. The book keeps speculation to the minimum. The authors do not automatically jump to the conclusion that extraterrestrial spacecraft crashed- All of the other alternative theories are discussed; A weather balloon, an experimental rocket launched from White Sands, an airplane crash. Only after exploring the inadequacies of these explanations do the authors come to the inevitable conclusion that what was recovered near Roswell was in the words of Major Jesse Marcel who saw the crash remains "nothing from this Earth."
Ohio leaders should be especially interested in reading the book because Circleville, Ohio's connection to the Roswell crash was mentioned eight times. The Roundtown UFO Society based in Circleville is credited in the book with contributing "valuable information" to the authors in their research. UFO Crash at Roswell is expected to get much media publicity in the future from television interview shows, documentaries, radio talk shows, newspapers and magazines. Many influential people have stated their convictions that there is a UFO cover-up, they include former Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater and Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter. the first Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. After reading this book you too shall be convinced that an important event in world history was hushed up for legitimate security reasons during the Cold War.
