ROUNDTOWN UFO SOCIETY SKYWATCH Annually on the 2nd Thursday of September at 6 pm
DUE TO COVID-19 CONCERNS THIS YEAR’S SKYWATCH WILL NOT BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Roundtown UFO Society’s annual SKYWATCH meeting is the organization’s September meeting held in an outdoor setting. We’ve been fortunate to have been able to have it on Sandy Barthelmas’ property which was owned back in 1948 by a farmer named Mr. Bruce Stevenson. The place has a special meaning to the organization. Pete Hartinger (The founder and director of the organization) calls it the place of “America’s First Classic UFO Encounter”. His story about the event can be found HERE. We all bring our lawn chairs and sit around the foundation of an old silo that appears to be shrinking as the organization grows. See the slideshow below.
If the weather isn’t cooperating, the meeting can be moved to the Canal Park shelter a couple of miles south. If too extreme, it can be postponed until the next month’s meeting time.
We usually have a fire and a grill cooking something up to eat, but due to the Covid-19 concerns we will back off of that part of the meeting until after the danger has passed. Maybe a fire if wood is available, but no cooking…
Pete wanted to remind folks to bring their masks.
